About this job
  • Must be a Level 4 installer with Test and Turn-up experience and leadership abilities.
  • Must be experienced at installing Next generation fiber optic terminals, xDSL, DLC, WDM, etc.  (Fujitsu, Calix, Adtran, Cisco, Alcatel-Lucent)
  • Must be experienced in test and turn-up of Next generation fiber optic
  • terminals.  Looking for techs that can install the systems and test/turn-up those same systems.   (Turn-key installations)
  • Must be available to travel the entire state of Kentucky.


Duties
  • Plans network installations by studying work orders, plans, manuals, and technical specifications; ordering and gathering equipment, supplies, materials, and tools, assessing installation site; preparing an installation diagram.
  • Capable of managing individual jobs to ensure dates and budgets are met.
  • Establishes voice and data networks by running, pulling, and terminating cables; installing telecommunications equipment, cable trays, and building ironwork and ladder racks; establishing connections; establishing connections and integrations; following industry standards. Some power work will be required.
  • Verifies service by testing circuits, equipment, and alarms; identifying, correcting, or escalating problems.
  • Documents network by labeling and routing equipment and cables; recording configuration diagrams and specifications.
  • Maintains customer rapport by listening to and resolving concerns; answering questions.
  • Maintains safe work environment by following codes, standards, and legal regulations. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
  • Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
